Launch Event: Adding Value Campaign

Invitation Only

Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Environment Minister, will launch the Partnership's Adding Value Campaign at a drinks reception on Tuesday 18th May 2010, almost three years after the launch of the Partnership.

The Campaign Launch Event will take place in the Trades Hall, Merchant City Glasgow at 4pm for drinks, nibbles and news of forthcoming activity.

 


Programme

4.00pm Introduction

Cllr Phillips, Chair of the GCV Green Network Partnership, will touch on the achievements of the Partnership over the past three years and hand over to Roseanna Cunningham MSP to put into the National context.

 


4.05pm - The Green Network Vision: a national development

Roseanna Cunningham MSP will launch the Partnership’s Adding Value Campaign highlighting the benefits of strategic and community planning in drawing together diverse interests and uniting them in pursuit of a coherent vision. She will discuss how what is being achieved by the Partnership reflects the ambitions of the newly formed Central Scotland Green Network. She will also reflect on the need to deliver added value to achieve better-considered, integrated solutions which will ultimately improve the lives of the people of Scotland.

 


4.15pm - The Role of Planning: national planning framework

Dr Graeme Purves, Head of National Planning Framework Scottish Government, will discuss major visionary achievements across Europe and look at the progress made by the Partnership toward achieving the Green Network Vision in Scotland. He will highlight progress made through the Planning process and set the challenges to the Partnership to emulate the achievements of the past three years.

 


4.25pm - Adding Value: supporting & enhancing the work of partners

Max Hislop, GCV Green Network Programme Manager, will reflect on the Partnership’s ability to generate value for money, to contribute to the delivery of outcomes, to demonstrate good practice and to provide and share expertise. He will outline key activities in 2010 and emphasis the role of everyone in the room to helping us achieve these goals.
